Craft Show in Monroe

This is a customer who baught
some cards

My husband Lane....

This was my second craft fair of the year. It was very successful and lots of fun. My husband was a big help.
Along with cards, I sell pillows that I make from T-shirts. The first ones to sell were my camo and deer pillows. Toby Keith went next then the M&M pillow.
I am looking forward to my next festival or fair.
The only problem I have is that I spend all my profit on the other vendors. I have to stop shopping where I sell.

Brides Lunch

September 12, my middle daughter Kelly married Brandon. Downtown Charlotte on the rooftop of the Holiday Inn. Bridesmaids, we Adriane, our oldest daughter, Meridith, youngest daughter and two of her best friends. My grandson walked me down the isle. Wedding was beautiful and the reception was fun. We danced until the last song was played. All of my children are married except for Meridith. She says she is getting married on a cruise ship. She and her boyfriend have been together a year. No plans yet.

Cards For A Lifetime

CARDS FOR A LIFETIME

My husband Lane and I went to Crossville, Tennessee to the worlds longest yard sale. It goes from Alabama to Ohio. So much to see, with so little day light. I was on the lookout for craft items, material, ribbons, anything I thought I could use to make crafts. Several vendors had old cards for sale. I am guessing these are from the 50's. The pictures on the front give me that time frame.
This made me stop a think. How did these cards survive 50 years. I think that is because these cards meant something to the person receiving them. Instead of throwing them away, these cards were put away as a keepsake. Maybe they were sent by a favorite aunt, Grandma, boyfriend, best girlfriend. I keep the cards that mean something special to me. I have a blended family and my stepdaughter Kelly, who is 31, calls me Mom. She gives me Mothers Day cards. The notes that she writes in them are special and I put them away in my keepsake box.

When I make a card, I wonder if the person receiving it will understand that it was made just for them. Will they cherish it and put it in a special place to keep. Will it show up 50 years later at a sale for someone else to admire. I hope my cards end up that way. If some one will save a store bought card and Cherish it. I can only hope that a hand made card will also withstand the test of time.

Christmas Cards In July

Since I am doing the festival in Sept. I thought I should get ready for Christmas now. Here are some of the cards that I have done so far. When I am making the Christmas ones, I start to get excited about Christmas. My husband and I shop all year long for our family. We just purchased a stereo system for our granddaughter for 5.00 at a yard sale. We are going to the longest yard sale out in Tenn. in August. Hoping to find all kind of treasures.
